A specialised laboratory shoot working with researcher David Merritt to capture extreme closeup imagery of glow worms that is impossible to accomplish in the wild.

With specific environmental needs, heads less than a millimetre across and constantly moving in three dimensional space, glow worms present challenging macro subjects.  For this shoot we developed a macro rig capable of filling the frame with the animals head or internal organs and tracking the tiny larvae as they moved around feeding and building their snares.
